Input Devices, Processing Device, Output Devices

Input Devices:

Input Devices are hardware components that are used to provide data and control signals to computers. They enable humans to interact with the computer system or let a computer interact with its immediate environment. Some of the most frequently used input devices are the mouse and the keyboard. The keyboard is typically used to type text and numbers into a word processor, text editor, etc., while the mouse is used to input commands by clicking and dragging. Other common input devices include microphones (for speech recognition and voice command applications),

scanners (for importing images),

touch screens (found in smartphones, tablets and some PC monitors),

web cameras (for video conferencing and image capturing), and

joy stick (commonly used in gaming applications)

Game controllers

light pens

digital pens and

bar code readers are also examples of input devices.

Processing Devices:

A processing device is a machine that processes data into information, namely a computer's central processing unit (CPU). The CPU performs most of the processing inside the computer. It is where most calculations take place; it's often referred to as the brain of the computer. Other processing devices include GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) used to process images, applications, and other data much faster than a traditional CPU. GPUs are typically used in 3D game rendering, cryptocurrency mining, and other mathematically complex applications. Microprocessors embedded in various hardware devices (like digital watches, calculators, and appliances) are also processing devices.

Output Devices:

Output devices are any pieces of hardware components that convey information from the computer to the user. This includes the monitor, which outputs visuals onto its screen, and the printer, which outputs textual or graphical images onto paper.

Other output devices include speakers (which output sound)

Projectors (which display images or videos onto a large screen for presentations or screening purposes), headphones (which provide personal audio output), and

3D printers (which produce solid, three-dimensional objects)

Devices like Braille embossers (which 'print' in Braille)

Plotters (which render high-quality graphics for architectural or engineering designs), and

CNC machines (which control tools with instructions received from the computer) are also output devices.

Output devices serve to support users with their specific computing tasks, whether it be work-related tasks, entertainment, or accessibility needs.
